What Is Summer Graze?
Summer Graze is currently a week-long camp designed to empower adolescent girls between the ages of 13-18, by nurturing them through a comprehensive program. This program encompasses various key areas of personal and societal development, including problem-solving skills, leadership skills, critical awareness, decision-making abilities, financial literacy, and environmental waste management. By addressing these multifaceted aspects, we aim to equip the participants with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the challenges of adolescence successfully.
We recognize the importance of mentorship and continuous engagement in the personal growth and development of these young girls, hence, our primary objective is to gain a deeper understanding of their mental and physical capabilities, identify their unique strengths and weaknesses and establish enduring relationships that will continue to provide support and guidance in the years to come.
Beyond individual growth, we strongly encourage them to actively engage in community development initiatives, nurturing a mindset of mutual enrichment—where individual progress contributes to the enhancement of the community, and in turn, the community’s betterment supports individual growth. This approach not only promotes a profound sense of social responsibility but also empowers these young girls, instilling within them the unwavering belief that they possess the capability to effect positive change within their communities.
APRIL - AUGUST, 2023
April – August 2023 will always be a celebratory period for us here at SISA, as this period saw the inception of not just our organization but also our maiden event – She Is Sheep Summer Graze. Hosted in Adiaha Obong Secondary School- our first partner school – all the girls were excited to become part and parcel of She Is Sheep Association.
The Summer Graze offered a new learning experience for every girl that came through our doors as the design and implementation of this scheme considered their individual attendance, learning necessities and areas for guidance and mentoring. With a range of classes including but not limited to: Environmental Waste Management/Climate Change; mental health and wellbeing; to Entrepreneurship; Health/Hygiene and Self Defense amongst a plethora of others, the girls were able to broaden their thinking horizons as well as their personal goals and vision, step up to challenges, face and conquer their fears.
Not only was the Summer Graze a phenomenal learning opportunity for our girls, but for us also, as we were able to identify key developmental area lapses for most girls, to help us better understand how to navigate their learning needs, enabling us to provide pillars of support for them through their journey of personal growth, self awareness and overall enrichment.
For one week our girls lived together without any forms of hierarchy or seniority, learning to live in equality, to give, support, love, help and celebrate being in positions of service to one another and our little community. Our team was always present with every child on sight 24/7 to see to their wellbeing and safety. We assured all parents that their children were to be properly catered for and they received just that.
SUSTENANCE & SUSTAINABILITY AGENDA
At She Is Sheep Association, our approach to societal advancement shifts from singular, projectized agendas and is on a path towards the establishment of solutions in demand, relevant to the present environs that can be recurrent, rouse longevity and sustained.
Summer Camps and schools have been proven to be solutions to mending the educational and academic fabric of society. While we provide these platforms for learning, girl-child education and engagement, we are aware that the success of our agenda must be in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders including parents, schools, institutions of impact such as churches, etc. Our relationship with the girls that come to the Summer Graze does not end at the Summer Graze as it is really only a means to an end – the end being their overall wellbeing and growth. The Summer Graze is a platform which allows us to form deeper relationships with the strongest influences on every child’s life which are through family, educational institutions and religious structures.
By being aware of these strong influences, and being able to take an objective stance, we are able to advice, guide and mentor girls and their families into making better decisions for their lives that will enhance their ability to function and adapt in any situation they find themselves in.
sUMMER GRAZE ENTRY PROCESS
While attendance at the Summer Graze is free, there is a structured process that prospective attendees must follow. This process ensures that parents comply with our terms and conditions and guarantees the safety and accuracy of the information provided. Given the high demand and limited spaces available, there is a waitlist for girls interested in the Summer Graze, and we strongly encourage all required steps to be followed for a better chance of securing a spot.
Here’s the process:
Application: Prospective attendees can apply online through our website or via a partner school. This involves submitting documents that showcase academic performance, improvement, or a tutor’s reference. Please note that references cannot be provided by relatives.
Join the Waitlist: Due to the number of applications we receive and limited space, we maintain a waitlist to shortlist potential participants.
Position Availability: Applicants will be notified about available positions for the Summer Graze, allowing them to confirm their interest in registration.
Registration: Successful applicants will confirm the accuracy of their provided information and provide additional documents to ensure the legitimacy of their application and the safety of all parties involved.
Interviews: Every girl aiming to attend the Summer Graze will go through an interview process, with parents or guardians in attendance. This interview helps us get to know the applicants better and ensures that your daughter or ward is a good fit for the Summer Graze, and vice versa.
Letter of Acceptance to Summer Graze: Upon passing the interview stage, girls will receive a letter of acceptance, confirming their spot at the Summer Graze. Parents will commit to their child’s attendance by providing their signature on the return document.
Parents’ Attendance to Summer Graze Meeting: We will hold meetings with parents of prospective attendees to discuss essential details, provisions, documentation, our objectives, goals, and expectations.
Confirmation of Child’s Attendance to Summer Graze: With parents’ attendance at the meeting, a mutual understanding of expectations, and a commitment to collaboration, we can confirm the Grazer’s place at the Summer Graze.

Our curriculum is designed to challenge girls, inspiring them to exceed the limits imposed by society and themselves. We achieve this through a mental orientation that instils the belief that they can achieve anything, as proclaimed by our Lord Jesus Christ. Well, you could partner with us on either one of our core classes, an activity, set activities or any skills acquisition classes. Class/Activity Sponsorsheep– A person, organization or brand may choose to sponsor a particular activity or class within the Summer Graze by donating learning support tools and resources, structuring the curriculum for that class in partnership with us, providing freebies/goodies, merchandise, prizes and gifts. You can also sponsor by providing access to important and necessary information, places or resources that may otherwise be financially strenuous or tasking.

What You Need To Know About Working At She Is Sheep Summer Graze?
At the Summer Graze, there are positions that are based on fixed term contracts for the duration of the Summer Graze including pre summer Graze preparations and Post Summer Graze activities to round up our initiative. These positions require higher levels of experience within their specific fields to ensure the safety and comfort of every individual present for the time being, thus, we reserve paid contracts for these specific roles, ensuring contracts are commensurate to the requirements, skills and expected output involved.
