1. WHERE WE COME FROM
Founded in 2023, She Is Sheep Association is an international Non-Governmental Organisation located in Uyo, the heart of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Our foundation is rooted in Christian values, Pan Africanism, and feminism. We are a membership-based organisation dedicated to addressing the educational challenges faced by adolescents in African societies due to underfunded and under-resourced systems.
Our organisation’s inception is closely tied to the founder’s personal salvation journey, as well as the experiences of numerous young girls she has encountered. We recognized the pressing need to provide alternative educational solutions through proactive and enriching learning environments. We aim to provide a platform that gives young girls agency by offering emotional, psychological, and mental support through their lives.
At SISA, our approach to personal development and education is holistic, focusing on the mental, spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being of each girl we serve. Our goal is to help them discover their potential as leaders and active contributors to society.
At SISA, we stress the importance of building a sense of community and working together for the advancement of society towards the benefit of ourselves.
2. where we are at now
She Is Sheep Association is actively expanding its network of girls in Nigeria through our flagship initiative, She Is Sheep Summer Graze. This residential summer camp invites girls from diverse secondary schools and backgrounds to join us for a week or more, with all expenses covered. During the Summer Graze, we prioritise understanding each girl’s unique needs and enabling them to take an active role in their own learning journey.
Our camp activities are designed to instil essential skills such as teamwork, effective communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, reflection, empathy, and situational analysis amongst a host of others. At She Is Sheep Association, we firmly believe that quality education and necessary learning resources should be accessible to all and not restricted to only a privileged few.
We have developed a distinctive approach to address long standing educational challenges within African societies by collaborating with local and community-based organisations and individuals who share our vision. We serve as a central hub for connecting like-minded individuals and organisations dedicated to human development and societal impact through the network we’ve established.
Our fundamental question is: How do we expect societal advancement when the society itself is not being carried along and crucial sectors are left behind?

She Is Sheep Association aspires to become the leading educational provider for girls and young women throughout Africa and beyond. We envision ourselves as the future of education, personal development, and leadership on the continent. Our mission is to create a strong network of young girls and women that transcends borders and demographic distinctions, focusing on spiritual, educational, personal, and leadership development laid on the foundations of Christ and sisterhood.
Our goal is to be at the forefront of offering free and easily accessible sustainable alternative Afro-centric educational solutions and tools by means of providing a community and encouraging sisterhood. These resources will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational infrastructure of our nations and the entire African continent.
WHY ARE WE SHEEP ?
Jesus said in John Chapter 10,
- Vs 11, “I am the good Shepherd: the good shepherd giveth life for the sheep.”
- Vs 14, “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep and am known of mine.”
- In Vs 27 He says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them and they follow me.”
The Lord is our Shepherd, therefore we shall not want for anything, we shall always be provided for! We are sheep simply because the One who leads us is our Shepherd, and sheep will ALWAYS follow their shepherd.
Being a child of God and a daughter of the most high qualifies you to be sheep to the GREATEST Shepherd, the BEST Father and most PATIENT teacher!
Jesus leads us, provides for us, takes care of us, fights for us and wins for us!
Sis, don’t be shy to be called Sheep because you are Sheep to the KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS who has declared Himself your Shepherd and that’s so amazing!
